Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of MaplePolls (maplepolls.com). By accessing or using the site, you agree to these terms. They are intended as a plain-language summary and are not legal advice.

Acceptance

By accessing MaplePolls you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What MaplePolls provides

MaplePolls aggregates publicly available Canadian polling data and presents rolling averages, trend charts, regional breakdowns, and editorial summaries. Seat projections and any other forward-looking figures shown on the site are estimates derived from public polling, not predictions, advice, or guarantees of any electoral outcome.

Accuracy and "as is" disclaimer

The polling data we display originates with third-party pollsters and is subject to their methodology, sampling, and reporting practices. Despite reasonable efforts to ingest and present this data faithfully, the site may contain errors, omissions, or stale figures. The site, its analyses, and all summaries are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including (without limitation) implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.

Not professional, financial, or voting advice

Nothing on MaplePolls constitutes professional, legal, financial, electoral, or voting advice. The site is intended as a public information resource for engaged citizens. You should not rely on any figure or summary on the site as the sole basis for any decision; consult qualified professionals or official sources where appropriate.

Intellectual property

Original MaplePolls content — including the rolling-average methodology, editorial summaries, copy, design, code, and database schema — is the property of MaplePolls and is protected by Canadian and international copyright law. You may link to the site, view it, and print or share individual pages for personal, non-commercial use.

Third-party content — including poll figures, pollster names, news headlines and excerpts, leader photos, and the Elections Canada donor aggregates — remains the property of its respective sources and is used with attribution. News excerpts from The Conversation editions are used under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-ND 4.0) license, as headline + first lines + link-back to the original article, with no edits to the text. US-federal-government content (whitehouse.gov, state.gov) is in the public domain under 17 U.S.C. §105.

External links

MaplePolls links to third-party websites — pollsters' original poll publications, news outlets' original articles, source data portals, and the Patreon platform. We do not control these third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, accuracy, or availability. Following a link is at your own discretion.

No affiliation, no endorsement, no accreditation

MaplePolls is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or accredited by any political party, polling firm, government body, electoral commission, university, research association, journalism school, or industry body. The phrase "Canadian Public Opinion & Research" — or any similar descriptive phrasing — used anywhere on the site is descriptive of the subject matter only and implies no accreditation, certification, professional designation, or institutional standing. Pollster names and logos referenced in the rolling average are used solely to attribute the underlying polls to their original publishers.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MaplePolls and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages — including lost profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the site or any content on it, even if MaplePolls has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
